Construction Engineer in Training

Parsons Construction Group, Inc. (PCG), a division of Parsons is a direct hire heavy civil contractor that focuses on P3, Design Build & Design Bid-Build infrastructure projects in the US and Canada. PCG has world class construction expertise, capability and proven track record in self-performing a broad range of infrastructure projects. PCG is seeking Construction Engineer, specialists for various locations across the US. The Parsons Construction Group's Construction Engineer, Specialist is responsible for assisting project staff in coordinating and executing onsite construction engineering activities for construction projects of various sizes to ensure quality and cost effectiveness. Depending on the project size, this position reports to the Field Supervisor, Project Engineer, Construction Engineer or assigned supervision.
Essential Duties Responsibilities

  • Assist project staff in their duties

  • Learn estimating per Parsons Construction Group procedures

  • Work closely with Project engineers, construction engineers and superintendents

  • Ensure adherence to Parsons Safety policies.

  • Prepare safety "toolbox meeting" and Activity Hazard Analysis.

  • Perform and document job safety walk on a regular basis.

  • Ensure adherence to Parsons Quality Control and Quality Assurance programs.

  • Report, track, and resolve non conformance issues in coordination with QA/QC.

  • Review and adhere to environmental management plan.

  • Review task budget, set and track productivities.

  • Execute work plans for the construction activities.

  • Implement of basic layout, and field measurements.

  • Track RFls.

  • Update "as built" drawings

  • Track, and resolve punch list items

  • Prepare task completion reports

  • Prepare basic take offs.

  • Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers.

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Demonstrated understanding of basic construction concepts..

  • Bachelor's or associate degree in construction related field is preferred

  • 0-5 years of demonstrated experience in the construction field

  • Position could be based out of any project location in the US. Hence MUST be willing to relocate to any project location. Relocation assistance will be provided.

Special Skills

  • Knowledge of Windows Office Systems; particularly in Excel, Word and Outlook is preferred

  • Capable of reading plans and drawings

  • Willingness to learn the skills needed to grow within the construction industry. Ability to prepare clear and concise oral and written communications.

  • Demonstrated team and leadership skills

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
